Released to Hospice 6/9/08

Sorry for such a long lag between postings… I am not doing well and after this last bought in the hospital for pneumonia again, they have determined that the Tarceva chemo therapy is NOT working and that the cancer has spread to my bone marrow. They releaesd me to home hospice care. Very disappointing to say the least.

I need your prayers more than ever.

I have had some great visitors. On hearing the news Joe Mazza came right away, so did Mike Howard, Jim Slagle, Todd Schonherz, and my Brother Scott and his wife Amy.

My main goals right now are to still try to get to the beach at the end of this month.

Grace and peace to you all. I love you all very much,
Eric

Eric, I pray that your faith will carry you through this time. You've been a good friend to me and a better one to Jesus.

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The turn his face toward you and give you peace.

Dear Eric and Family,

I learnt about your diagnosis through an email posted by Debbie (from TN) to our church list serve requesting us to pray for you and your family. Although I do not know you personally, I have a heavy burden to pray for you and have visited your site frequently for updates regarding your progress. This does sound tough but I know that the Lord is in total control. Though we do not know what tomorrow holds, we know the one who holds it. Eric, fear not, you're in safe hands.

In prayers,

Evah

Eric, our family is often reminded of you singing that beautiful song at Lleyton's baptism, "You Have a Maker". It meant so much to us for you to be up there with us, reminding us that we are God's children and that God holds us so close, especially in difficult times. It is so evident that God continues to be glorified through you! We love you and your family and are praying without ceasing for you all.

Hello Eric and Amy. Joe had such a great visit. I wish I could have been there. This morning I want to share one of my favorite songs with you. Yes, I was a huge White Heart fan. They were Christian music back in the day. I really idolized them. I listened to this song over and over again. If you'd like to watch a video of this song being sung back in the day go to:http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/w/white_heart/fly_eagle_fly.html

If you want to skip all the fancy keyboard playing, go to about five minutes into the video and the song starts.

Love ya - Theresa Mazza

White Heart - Fly Eagle Fly

You've lost the hope, You've lost the green
The fire has left your dream
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
Faith is a bird and it's wings are his holy word..

(Chorus)
Fly Eagle Fly
Hold your head high
Soar upon the spirit wind
Oh Fly Eagle Fly
Up into the sky
Ride the golden wings of morning

And there is hope that won't pass away
It's the power of the empty grave
You may grow weak, weary and worn
But he'll make you strong
For he's the lord of the endless one

(Chorus)

Fly Eagle Fly
Hold your head high
Soar upon the spirit wind
Oh Fly Eagle Fly
Up into the sky
Ride the golden wings of morning
Fly Eagle Fly

Eric, we continue to pray daily for you and your family. You are an amazing witness for Christ as you go through this storm. May you feel His presence every day. Hey, about 3 weeks ago, I was going through my many pics looking for some of Hannah to put together a graduation video and came across the pics from the "karayoke party" at Justin K's first house. What a night! You, Amy, Edsel, Dawn, Dave, Julie, Sekou, Jim, Stacy, Justin, Tracy, Alex, Suzannah, Beth and me taking turns at the mike. I miss those times. Have a great time at the beach! We love you -- John, Beth, Jordan, Joe & Hannah
